Into The Wild Laos (8 Days/ 7 Nights)

The northernmost section of Laos deserves its reputation as one of the few remaining frontiers in Southeast Asia. The scenery – a patchwork of green mountains and deep valleys – is magnificent, while travel is conducted mostly on the area’s mighty rivers rather than on its frequently rough roads. For those who make the effort to venture here, the region offers some of the most fantastic landscapes in Laos and opportunities in the country to interact with its many ethnic cultural groups. This adventure kicks off in remote Houaphanh Province, host to the Viengxay caves, an extensive network of caves carved into the limestone karst mountains that were used by communist fighters during the Vietnam War. Moving on from here, the wilderness activities continue with guest learning more about local traditions and embarking on a night safari. Other highlights, meanwhile, include sampling the local firewater and the chance of spotting the elusive wild tigers still at large in the region.
