Rising to the occasion: Three Big Role changes at EXO Japan

EXO Japan is charting a bold path forward as we evolve to meet growing demands and embrace new opportunities. Today, we’re excited to share several leadership changes that will drive fresh ideas, closer collaboration, and a stronger future.

Over the past few months, we’ve seen an incredible uptick in demand for travel to Japan, and we’re excited to meet this enthusiasm head-on. To raise our service standards even higher, we’re making a few organisational adjustments that will help us work smarter, collaborate more closely and continue crafting incredible journeys to Japan for our partners.

To start, Sara Mattioli has been promoted to the position of Assistant General Manager for Japan. Sara will look after our Operations, Reservations and Customer Care teams across both Leisure (independent travellers) and Group business, with a keen eye on finding new efficiencies and leveraging technology to enhance our capabilities. Her holistic view of EXO Japan will help us streamline processes and keep us poised for continued growth.

Meanwhile, as Inbound Director, Nicolas Bentz will be shifting his focus on Groups, which includes our Adventure and MICE segments. Group travel is on the rise, and Nicolas will be at the helm, ensuring timely responses for current and prospective partners while collaborating closely with our Product Team to enrich our offerings—especially for emerging and lesser-known destinations.

On the Leisure side, Mathilde Oriol is stepping into the role of Inbound Director for FIT. She’ll nurture our key accounts, making certain we consistently meet our service-level agreements, maintaining excellent communication and exploring promising new partner relationships. Mathilde’s proactive approach will keep us in tune with the evolving needs of travellers and ensure the level of care our partners have come to expect remains unwavering.

By consolidating roles and sharpening our focus, we aim to improve our response times, support the continued rise in demand for Japanese travel experiences and maintain the high standards our partners count on. These moves reflect our commitment to constant growth and innovation.
