April is always one of the most intense months of the year for our team, as a high number of travellers are on the ground enjoying Japan’s iconic cherry blossom season. While sakura remains the highlight for many visitors, it is worth remembering that spring in Japan extends far beyond cherry blossoms. Shortly after the petals fall, the country transitions into new seasonal landscapes, with vibrant azaleas and wisteria blooming across gardens and parks followed closely by hydrangeas in June during the early rainy season.
Spring therefore offers several opportunities to experience Japan’s natural beauty, even outside the peak sakura period.
Golden Week will take place from April 29 to May 6, one of Japan’s busiest domestic travel periods. Heavy crowds are expected at major stations, airports, and popular sightseeing areas. During this time, unreserved seats will not be available on selected train services, making advance seat reservations essential.
Please also note that our office will be closed during the Golden Week holidays, and we recommend planning requests and operational matters accordingly.
