In this program, you’ll embark on a light trek to these very rice terraces not only for your viewing pleasure but also for educational purposes. Before heading out for this memorable trek, we recommend wearing sportswear and sturdy shoes. Insect repellent, hat, sunglasses and sunscreen are also highly recommended. You may also wish to bring a change of clothes for after the trek.

Wake up, shape up and let’s go! A lot of the green rice paddies you see in pictures are in the Tabanan Regency. We’ll take you to the traditional Balinese village of Pitra where your trekking guide and a refreshing welcome await your arrival.

Ready to for a little exercise and for some oo’s and ahh’s? The trekking route is about nine kilometers (about two and a half hour walk) through those very rice fields you came to see. Feel free to capture these moment through your camera. But of course there is more than just rice fields. Farmers have to tend to them, right? On this trek, you’ll also pass through quaint villages with garden, cow stables and small temples. Depending on the time of year, you will see farmers planting, harvesting or taking care of the fields.

While trekking along, you’ll also have the opportunity to meet the locals in the fields. You will be greeted with smiles and welcoming hospitality. Nothing like a warm and genuine Balinese smile behind a backdrop of bright green rice paddies to really make your day.

Your trek finishes near Batukara. A buffet lunch will be served with hot showers and bathrooms available. After lunch you will transfer back to your hotel.
