Myanmar Culinary Delights (8 Days / 7 Nights)

Isolated from the rest of the world for much of the last century, Myanmar remains a mystery to many. So too does its food, which is largely neglected in any conversation about the cuisines of Southeast Asia. While this oversight may be unfair, it means that a trip to Myanmar can engender a culinary voyage of discovery that is not so easy to achieve elsewhere in the region. Extending all the way from the Himalayas in the north to the Andaman Sea in the far south and bordering Bangladesh, India, China, Laos and Thailand, Myanmar is epic in size and scale.

Unsurprisingly, these many influences have combined to forge an enthralling culinary identity. Travelling north from the former capital Yangon to destinations including Inle Lake, Mandalay and Bagan, guests will have the chance to run the gamut of Burmese cuisine, visiting local teashops and restaurants to sample snacks, noodles, and other more complex creations.
