Wow! Saigon is definitely a feast on the senses! The city is on the go, with racing motorbikes jamming into every available road space, buzzing cars trying to beat out the rush hour traffic, bustling markets selling goods, sizzling treats cooking on the roadside stall and locals walking about and carrying on with their busy day. Let’s get some info on the Saigon River. The river actually starts out in Southeastern Cambodia, flows south to southeast for approximately 225 kilometers (in turn flowing through Saigon) and empties into the Nha Be River, which in its turn empties into the South China Sea. Obviously the river is important to the city as is serves as a port where cargo is loaded on and off and also as a water source and a means of travel.

And travel on it you will do. The program doesn’t start until 15.30. There’s plenty of time for you to relax. Or to explore Saigon. Either way, we’ll take you to the jetty on the Saigon River where a speedboat is waiting for your two hour excursion in the waters.

What’s good about this trip is that you’ll see and experience sites totally exclusive to the river. There are small and isolated canals that lead to quiet and peaceful almost aquatic neighborhoods. Everything from traditional wooden boats from the Mekong Delta to families living on fishing boats and larger sea fearing vessels can be seen. You may not know of these before hitting the water.
