Step foot in Vietnam and discover one of the most sought after holidaying destinations in the world. With intriguing cities, diverse landscapes and colorful cultures, Vietnam is on the rise! But wait, there’s one more item in the list. That’s right, what is a good holidaying experience without good food? Vietnam is known to have one of the world’s best cuisine, and you should definitely give it a try. What’s more, you’ll learn how to cook these dishes and parlay that skill back home. Food aficionados should not miss out!

In this tour, you’ll realize the vast diversity of Vietnamese cuisine. Each region presents a different set of unique tastes and culinary experiences. Start in Ho Chi Minh (Saigon) and see the city’s eclectic display of Eastern tradition and colonial charm. Enjoy the flavors of Southern Vietnamese cuisine for dinner. Then, wake up for your cooking class! The professional chef will explain the reasons behind the ingredients used and the history behind the dishes. End your day at a local style restaurant and one of the city’s most popular eateries.

Since you are in Southern Vietnam, you might as well check out the Mekong Delta. See what foods are on sale at the area’s vibrant floating market. Have lunch in a superb colonial villa nestled inside a quaint village before returning to the big city.

From Saigon, head over to Hoi An via Danang. This is probably what Vietnam looked like 200 years ago. And the cuisine in Central Vietnam is unique. Spend your afternoon along the town’s waterways, learning about the traditional fishing techniques still used here. Dine this evening at one of the country’s most innovative fusion restaurants.

The next day consists of a memorable cooking experience at Tra Que. You’ll actually harvest the vegetables with the villagers, learning about the crop and the yielding methods before a cooking experience with the family. And of course spend dinner time with them. The rest of your time in Hue is at leisure, either amongst its art galleries, beaches or just about anywhere else.

A scenic drive past over high passes takes you to the former imperial capital of Hue. Here you’ll sample fine cuisine that matches the city’s royal imperial status. The delicious flavors of Hue continue to entice even until today, and you’ll have a chance to sample this famous cuisine within the premises of one of the town’s unique garden houses.

It’s now time to learn about that royal food! Head to the market and see the fresh produce on display, the source of Hue’s cuisine. Enjoy a vegetarian lunch at a Buddhist pagoda with monks before enjoying the rest of the day at leisure.

Finish your culinary journey in the north. Head to Hanoi, where the food follows a spicier standard. Think you can handle it? Many of the country’s most famous dishes, such as pho are from the north. You’ll also enjoy a culinary journey through Hanoi, with a full day street food and cooking class session. Experience the bustle of Hanoi at the local market before heading out to a very exclusive restaurant that is open only a few hours in the afternoon.

Conclude your culinary journey amongst the limestone and blue water beauty of Halong Bay. Have lunch onboard. Swim amongst those blue waters, explore some of those caves or kayak amongst the limestone karsts. Or take part in a Vietnamese spring roll cooking demonstration on the sundeck, or simply relax as you wind through the Bay, it’s up to you. Vietnam: such a beautiful land with great food!
