Home to some of the Best Beaches in the World, Southeast Asia provides a Plethora of Seaside Options

It is no surprise; Southeast Asia is home to some of the world’s best beaches. Boasting a tropical climate that most of the Western world would be envious of also helps with the region’s seaside image.

It is no surprise; Southeast Asia is home to some of the world’s best beaches. Boasting a tropical climate that most of the Western world would be envious of also helps with the region’s seaside image. So without further ado, let’s get to some of the region’s best.

Thailand
•    Phuket – Thailand’s largest island and a sort of a ‘headquarters’ to some of the country’s best scuba spots and limestone sightings. Nearby are Pha Nga Bay, Koh Lanta, the Similan Islands and Krabi. Oh, and Phuket is not a bad beach destination itself either.
•    Koh Chang – Thailand’s second largest island with long sand beaches that are almost empty. It is part of Ko Chang Marine Park archipelago, so expect to see some cool land and marine animals.
•    Koh Samed – A favorite amongst Bangkokians looking to escape the bustle of the city and into a nearby island getaway. An ideal place for a care-free and non-descript beach stay.
•    Hua Hin – Not too far from the capital and another favorite amongst Bangkokians. Sam Roi Rot National Park as well as some nice mountains, and waterfalls are nearby.

Cambodia
•    Sihanoukville – Possibly Cambodia’s most popular beach destination. On weekdays, it is pretty quiet and there is tons of space to bask in the sun and ocean waters. Ream National Park is not too far away.
•    Kep – Cambodia’s up and coming beach destination. Home of the famous Kampot Pepper Crab.

Vietnam
•    Nha Trang – Vietnam’s famous seaside resort town. It is also considered the country’s hub for diving and snorkeling.
•    Phu Quoc – The country’s to go island getaway. Rugged mountains and dense forests offers trekking and climbing options. Swimming, beach basking and diving are also popular activities.

Myanmar
•    Ngapali – Southeast Asia’s up and coming seaside destination. Home to white sand, quiet rural surroundings and a sleepy farming/fishing atmosphere.

Indonesia
•    Bali – Need we say more? Tons and tons of things to do here. Diving, check. Swimming, check. Surfing, check. Quiet beaches, check. Black sandy beaches, check. Temples, check. Jungles, check. Volcanoes, check. Just about anything you can think of, check.
•    Lombok – Just off the Western coast from Bali. Some say it is Bali 30 or so years ago. The small rustic Gili Islands are not too far away.
•    Komodo – Overshadowed by the island’s most famous inhabitants (the Komodo Dragon), the island does offer some nice seaside scenes and experiences.
•    Flores – Home to some amazing diving and snorkeling spots. The famous Kelimutu crater lakes that changes color is also here.

These are only the tip of the iceberg, oops wrong analogy, tip of the island. If you are curious to know what else is out there, don’t hesitate to contact us.
