Imagine pedaling along the charming scenery of Vietnam. You’re powering that bike through lush Vietnamese scenery and next thing you know, you’re in Cambodia, admiring the grand Angkor temples! If this is the type of adventure you are looking for, then grab that bike, bring your sense of adventure and pedal away! This will truly be an adrenaline pumping experience you won’t forget!

From your bike, you’ll see the contrast between the bustle of Saigon and the relaxed atmosphere of the countryside. You’ll work (the ease of the trip and the beauty of the scenery makes it seem like no work at all) your way to the Mekong Delta. Travel through the heart of the delta along narrow paths, past fields of sugar cane, fruit plantations, and lush green paddy fields. The area is also abundant with Khmer temples (perhaps a preview of what will come later in Cambodia). Take a break and absorb the atmosphere; spend time with the children at a local school, observe and perhaps participate with the farmers, share your stories with local villagers; all while being a part of the Mekong Delta.

What is the Mekong Delta without visiting the colorful floating markets? You’ll cycle past them and in a way, even through them as you pass vendors and craftsmen going about their early morning business. A great way to soak in the local life, isn’t it? Your final leg in the Mekong Delta will include a bike climb up Sam Mountain for stupendous views of the scenery down below. Leave your bike in Vietnam and walk across the border to Cambodia where your new bike awaits. Total cycling time in Vietnam: 244 kilometers.

Grab your new bike into your first foray into Cambodia; the peaceful seaside town of Kep. Cycle along easy tarmac roads with occasional sightings of the Gulf of Thailand and colonial buildings as you make your way to another of Cambodia’s popular beach resort towns, Sihanoukville. Spend the night and take a deserving break here.

We’ll whisk you off to the capital by road. Explore the city’s proud ancient history, tragic recent past and hopeful future with a relaxed city tour. Then, head out and cycle the vast Cambodian wilderness to Oudong, the former capital. Climb the town’s main hill for sweeping views before pedaling your bike for more Cambodian countryside experiences, passing sites of ox carts and simple villages along the way.

It is finally here, the temples of Angkor. Perhaps one of the regions’s if not the world’s greatest collection of ancient temples and relics. And there’s no better way to explore the intricate details of the imposing buildings than by bike.  You’ll visit them all, Banteay Srei, the jungle covered Ta Phrom, the enigmatic towers of Bayon, the walled city of Angkor Thom and of course Angkor Wat, just to name a few. Conclude this Saigon to Angkor Wat Bike trip with a masterful traditional performance. Total cycling time in Cambodia: 251 kilometers.
