New & featured hotels

Malay-style lodge in the lush Sabah jungle

Sepilok Forest Edge is a Malay-style lodge offering Chalets and Longhouse-style accommodation in Borneo’s famous lush greenery. It’s the perfect base for exploring Sabah’s amazing wildlife, with Broadbills, Kingfishers, Pittas, Orangutans and more often spotted from the hotel.

The chalets are built with upcycled woods originally from houses built in the 1940’s. The rooms are inspired by the minimal design of the locals, feature indoor and outdoor showers and are decorated with local drawings, handmade natural art pieces or pictures of old Sandakan.

Remote river resort surrounded by nature

Kinabatangan Wetland Resort is tucked away in the Lower Kinabatangan-Segama Wetlands, an important conservation area.

The timber-built resort can only be reached by a boat ride through the nipah palms and mangrove trees.

Spacious and comfortable chalets offer a unique river and  jungle experience. Guests can spend time observing nature, spotting wildlife such as langurs, wild orangutans, silver leaf monkeys and a myriad of birds.

Sustainable luxury in the heart of the rainforest

Borneo Rainforest Lodge is nestled in a magnificent setting alongside the Danum River.  The river flows through Sabah’s largest Lowland Rainforest  with pristine and undisturbed tropical flora and fauna.

The Lodge’s sustainable design, uses recycled wood products and locally sourced materials.

Day trekking, night safari, tubing and forest walk are some of the activities that can be enjoyed together with the rich wildlife that surround the entire area.

Tropical relaxation between jungle, sand and sea

The award-winning Sukau Rainforest Lodge is nestled on the banks of one of Borneo’s most important waterways, the Kinabatangan River.

The Lodge offers the rare comfort and luxury in the midst of the Borneo Rainforest, which is home to an array of magnificent wildlife.

The property’s twenty sustainable villas exude exotic Borneo vibes and lush comfort to further heighten guests’ experience whilst being in the great wilderness

Destination update

  • Construction ongoing at Sepilok Forest Edge: Sepilok Forest Edge Resort will be constructing a New Reception Counter. This construction commenced on 26 March 2024 with an estimated completion date of 1 June 2024. All renovation activities will occur in accordance with guidelines set by the resort management. Throughout the construction, the amount of noise or disruption will be minimised.
  • Construction ongoing at Sepilok Nature Lodge: Construction activities at Sepilok Nature Lodge are still in progress. Although the current work is not within the chalet compound, guests may experience some noise due to the particular stage of this work in progress. This is not anticipated throughout the day; although during times where certain equipment is necessary, noise may be anticipated and expected.
  • Limited flight disruptions from volcano: Due to the recent volcanic activity on Mount Ruang (Indonesia), Malaysian Airlines and Air Asia had to cancel numerous flights between Kuala Lumpur and Sabah and Sarawak on 18 April. EXO is monitoring the situation carefully, assisting affected guests and will update partners should further cancellations be announced.
