‘A great opportunity for me to discover Thailand, the culture and the people’
Originally from France, Jeremy initially planned on a business career. However, midway through his studies, he took an internship at a luxury hotel in Paris and never looked back.
‘I was working in the hotel front office and, almost immediately, I knew this was what I wanted to do’, Jeremy explains. He spent the next decade working in some of Paris’ most prestigious hotels, including three years at the renowned Mandarin Oriental supervising the front desk team and training new team members.
It was during this time that he met his future wife and, together, they decided to embark on a new adventure and move to Thailand. ‘We bought a one-way ticket and arrived on tourist visas’, Jeremy explains. ‘Finding jobs wasn’t as easy as we expected but fortunately I was hired as French department manager for a local DMC. It was a great opportunity for me to discover Thailand, the culture and the people’.
That initial role in the DMC world paved the way for Jeremy’s travel industry career, and over the years, he has held various positions that deepened his connection to Thailand.
‘I love that Thailand is so diverse- the food, people, culture- it changes as you go to different parts of the country’
Jeremy’s love for Thailand runs deep. From its warm and welcoming people to its vibrant street markets, he is captivated by the country’s rich diversity.
‘Every day is an adventure here, especially where there is such a cultural difference compared to France’, he explains. ‘And I love that Thailand is so diverse– the food, people, culture- it changes as you go to different parts of the country.’
A keen runner and motorcyclist, Jeremy often ventures further off the beaten track when travelling.
‘Bangkok is a great city, there is always something happening and it’s so rich culturally. But the rural areas, like Nan province in the north and small beach towns in the south, this is what I truly love’, he explains.
‘Before I even see the sites, the first thing I do in a new place is visit the market. This is where you can truly feel the atmosphere of a place. And the colours, the food, the sites- it’s special.’
With his curiosity and passion for authentic discovery, Jeremy is set to bring a fresh and innovative perspective to Thailand travel experiences.
