Kuching Cat Walk (Half Day)

Compact and easily negotiable by foot, Kuching is a fantastic city for a leisurely stroll. This half-day journey kicks off in delicious fashion with a hearty bowl of laksa (rice noodles, omelette strips, bean sprouts, shredded chicken and prawns in a comforting coconut broth). With the meal providing energy, it is time to explore the Sarawak capital’s eclectic mix of the past and present. The name Kuching is thought to derive from the Malay term for a cat. Therefore felines loom large in the city, with cat statues, murals and even a museum paying homage to the animal. In addition to encounters with these furry friends, guests will explore some of the city’s most enchanting sights. These include Tua Pek Kong Temple, the city’s oldest Chinese temple, India Street mall and Jalan Gambit, the riverside thoroughfare fronting the rolling Sarawak River.
