Explore Beijing like a Beijinger (Full Day)

The respected capital of the world’s most populous nation, Beijing, is a city that is huge on gravitas. This journey draws on both the modern and historic sides of the city to offer guests a rounded view of how it operates on a day to day basis. The day begins with a traditional breakfast of steamed stuffed buns (baozi) and tea. After eating, a swift, easy ride on the subway whisks guests to the legendary Temple of Heaven, a perfect place to observe morning exercises. After a lunch of traditional yang xiezi, guests will continue their exploration of the city by biking through its hutongs, the famous narrow alleyways of old Beijing. The modern city, meanwhile, is impressive in a different way with sleek bars, restaurants and hotels and shimmering skyscrapers in enclaves such as Wangfujing Road reflecting China’s own great leap forward.
