Cinematic China (18 Days / 17 Nights)

Few countries on the planet can rival China when it comes to widescreen appeal. The gargantuan nation is home to endless deserts, vast sky-scraping plateaus, dream-like limestone karst scenery and some of the world’s most vibrant cities.

It is hardly surprising then that the Middle Kingdom has been the subject of so many cinematic representations. Among the most famous of these is Taiwanese director Ang Lee’s Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, a martial arts epic hailed as one of the most influential foreign language films of all time in the United States. On this themed journey, guests will find out more about Lee’s masterpiece – visiting the Huangshan (Yellow Mountains) in Anhui province where several scenes were filmed — as well as a number of other celluloid classics involving China.

The route kicks off in buzzing Hong Kong before diverting north to classic sights such as Guilin and contemporary hubs including Shanghai and Beijing.
