Emei Shan Hiking Circuit (4 Days / 3 Nights)

Emei Shan Hiking Circuit (4 Days / 3 Nights)

Offering cool respite from the steamy plains of the Sichuan basin, Emei Shan is one of China’s four sacred Buddhist Mountains. The story goes that a farmer built the first Buddhist temple near its summit in the first century CE, marking Buddhism’s arrival in the Eastern World. These days there are around 30 temples on the mountain. On this journey, guests will delve into the heritage of the area, witnessing significant sights such as the Giant Buddha at Leshan and temples and monasteries including Fuhu Temple, Leivin Temple and Quingyin Pavilion. In addition to religious heritage, the area is known for its immense natural beauty. During the hike guests will pass through a range of microclimates from bamboo woods to northern forests and snow-covered landscapes. This active adventure concludes in style with a spectacular final-day sunrise with views of Gongga Mountain, the highest peak in Sichuan Province, which is nearly always bathed in a stunning sea of clouds.
