Welcome to the October Thailand destination update. Our team has spent the final weeks of product creation season designing and finalising exciting new experiences to launch ahead of the upcoming high season. Enjoy the read and, as always, feel free to reach out with any questions you may have. Happy Halloween!
- Products:
We’d like to highlight an experience in Bangkok that will help your clients get to grips with the basics of the Thai language, making their travels even more meaningful. A tiny bit of language knowledge in Thailand can go a long way. The other experience option we’re highlighting is a new tour in Chiang Mai focusing on the local coffee industry with hands-on activities using ancient traditional sustainable methods.
- Hotels:
This month, we’re highlighting two classic favourites. The first is a staycation report from our Key Account Manager’s personal stay in the Golden Triangle, while the second highlights some new features at everyone’s favourite Railay beach option. On top of that, we’ve featured a hotel in Bangkok we’ve partnered with for a while and one in Chiang Rai which, while well known, deserves a little more attention.

Anantara Golden Triangle
Chiang Rai
Our Key Account Manager shares first-hand impressions from his recent stay:
‘I recently had the opportunity to spend some time at Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort, and it was a great reminder of why this property works so well as more than just a stopover on a northern Thailand itinerary.
The first thing that struck me was how well the rooms are looking. They are beautifully presented, comfortable and very much in keeping with the natural surroundings, making the resort an excellent place to simply slow down and enjoy the setting. I would particularly recommend considering an extra night here for guests with time in their itinerary. There is plenty to do, but equally, it is a place where doing very little and soaking it all in is part of the appeal.
I also had the chance to see some of the property’s more unique accommodation and dining experiences, including the new tent-style rooms and the Jungle Bubbles. The Bubbles are a particularly fun option for families looking for something a little different, although I would position them as a special experience rather than something that will suit every guest. The new tent-style accommodation also adds another interesting option for guests wanting to feel closer to the surrounding jungle and more immersed in the area.
The resort’s Tree Tops dining experience is another highlight, with dinner served among the trees and the surrounding landscape providing a memorable backdrop. I also ate at both of the resort’s main restaurants and particularly enjoyed Sam Sarn. The menu brings together flavours and influences from Thailand, Myanmar and Laos, which makes it a great opportunity for guests to experience the food culture of the Golden Triangle rather than simply having a standard Thai dining experience.
Of course, one of the major draws of Anantara Golden Triangle is the opportunity to spend time with the elephants through the Walking with Giants experience. What I particularly liked is that the experience is centred around observing the elephants and walking alongside them rather than riding or encouraging unnatural interactions. The focus is on allowing the elephants to behave naturally, with guests learning about them and their individual personalities along the way.
Overall, I came away feeling that Anantara Golden Triangle is a property where guests should be encouraged to slow down and enjoy the resort rather than trying to fit too much into their stay. The rooms are looking excellent, the setting is fantastic, and there is a good balance between memorable experiences and simply having time to relax’.
