Upcoming Public Holiday:  31 Oct 2024.

Sightseeing Update:

  • The Habitat at Penang Hill: The Habitat Penang Hill has officially extended its operating hours! From 31 August onwards, guests can explore the iconic rainforest from 9am to 9pm (last entry at 6.30 PM), offering a brand-new opportunity to experience the forest after dark. Please note that while the park remains open for extended hours, The Habitat Café and Retail will close at 5pm.
  • Sabah Museum: The Sabah Museum is temporarily closed for renovations. A re-opening date has not been announced. 

Malaysia Hotel Refurbishment, Construction, Closures:

  • Pangkor Laut Resort: The resort is undergoing a soft refurbishment through June 2025 in order to maintain a high standard of service and luxury. The project will be paused during peak season, from Dec –  Feb. The resort is carrying out the work in phases, carefully blocking off the entire villa block and adjacent areas during this process.
  • Sukau Rainforest Lodge: The lodge is closing a small portion of Deluxe Rooms for upgrade between the period of 27 October 2024 to 23 February 2025. The work carried out will not affect guests’ experience and the team will make every effort to minimise noise and disruption during this time.
  • Mutiara Taman Negara Resort:  Canopy Walk is currently closed for maintenance work due to damage to the main structure caused by fallen trees.  There are no restrictions for guests to enter into the National Park, only the canopy walkway is closed until further notice to all visitors.
  • Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge: The swimming pool at Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge will be closed for maintenance work from 01 November till further notice (estimation closure for 1 month). 
  • Borneo Rainforest Lodge: The lodge will be closed for maintenance from 01 to 20 December 2024. 
  • Pullman Kuching: The hotel is undergoing a comprehensive renovation to upgrade facilities and amenities, with an estimated completion date of June 2025 (subject to change). During this period, some part of the hotel might be temporarily inaccessible.   
  • Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge, My Nature Resort, Abai Jungle lodge: All three lodges will be closed for internal annual dinner on 6th and 7th December 2024

 

Singapore News

  • MPOX Screening at Singapore Airports: Temperature and visual screenings have been implemented at Changi and Seletar airports for all inbound travellers arriving from locations at risk of mpox outbreaks. Although there are currently no direct flights from outbreak-affected countries, these precautions will be in place. Similar screening measures will also be applied at sea checkpoints for crew and passengers arriving on ships from areas affected by mpox.
  • Ce La Vi Restaurant Singapore: the restaurant will be closed for renovation for roughly 3 months starting on 17 Feb 2025.
