‘Kyushu is a destination growing in popularity and the particular hot springs of this area is something that is really worth the visit’, Michela explains.
‘As a hot spring lover myself, I wanted to create a product that emphasises the unique culture developed around it, in a tour that showcases the different ways local people enjoy the onsen power.’
The tour focuses on the Northeastern part of Kyushu Island, an area famous for its onsen hot springs and enticing cuisine.
Starting in Beppu, guests will visit the ‘Seven Hells of Beppu’, a series of scorching hot springs, and dine on food cooked in the spring’s steaming air.
Next is a dip in the country’s famed Kurokawa Onsen before traveling on to Fukuoka for a brilliant food tour and chance to explore the city’s traditional shrines and gardens.
Michela concludes, ‘This tour is perfect for those who want to learn more about the local life and how food plays an important role in the bonding of Japanese people. They will also get to experience both Japanese cities and local towns in the countryside.’
