Discover the local rhythms of Trang on this immersive three-day journey through Southern Thailand. Explore Trang’s old town aboard the region’s iconic ‘Frog Head’ tuk-tuk, sampling local specialities along the way, and take part in hands-on activities such as traditional dessert making, pandan coaster weaving or batik painting. Itinerary
📍 Krabi Airport - Trang Old Town (120 km): 1.50 hrs. Trang Airport - Trang Old Town (10 km): 20 min Trang Old Town - Villa Pateh (50 min): 1 hr
Upon arrival at Trang Airport, meet a hotel representative for the transfer to Trang’s old town. After a 20-minute drive, begin exploring its historic streets aboard the region’s iconic 'Frog Head' tuk-tuk, stopping along the way for lunch and to sample traditional culinary delights while learning more about Trang’s culinary heritage.
Following the tour, transfer to the cosy and welcoming Villa Pateh. Nestled in the tranquil Sikao District, this boutique property blends classic European-inspired design with elements of traditional Southern Thai architecture.
After checking in and some time to relax, take part in a local dessert-making workshop at the villa. Meet a local instructor and learn to prepare khanom kop pok, also known as khanom kho in Central Thailand, a local sweet named after the soft 'pok' sound of its coconut sugar filling breaking upon the first bite.
In the late afternoon, take the mangrove walking path down to the coast for a relaxing beach setup. Unwind with a refreshing coconut drink while watching the sun dip below the horizon, bringing the first day to a peaceful close.
Dinner is served at the resort.

For the early risers, kick off the morning with an optional excursion on a long-tail boat to witness the local fishermen casting their nets in the golden dawn light, a truly authentic glimpse into the coastal way of life.

After breakfast, get ready for a half-day excursion by long-tail boat through Boonkong Bay. Known locally as Ao Boonkong, this hidden natural gem is located in Trang’s Sikao District on the Andaman Sea and highly regarded as an off-the-beaten-path eco-tourism destination. Cruise through the tranquil, emerald mangrove forests, experience the soothing natural hot springs and visit a fascinating local cave. Delve into nature while enjoying delicious snacks served right on board.
Following the morning sea excursion, head back to Villa Pateh for a delicious lunch featuring local flavours.
In the afternoon, enjoy some time to relax before choosing from a selection of hands-on local activities:
Pandan Coaster Weaving: Visit a local house, meet local artisans and learn the traditional art of weaving local pandan leaves into custom coasters.
Batik Painting: Meet a local instructor at the villa and learn the techniques behind batik painting while creating a colourful fabric piece.

Rise early for an optional visit to the community market, with opportunities to sample local snacks and meet residents. Note: Unlike many other Thai markets, stalls are set up outside individual homes around the community centre, selling food, snacks and coffee or tea.

Check out at 11:00 and transfer out to the airport or a local pier to continue to the next island destination (either Koh Mook, Koh Kradan or Koh Lanta). Note: Connections to Koh Lipe are also possible via an approximately 2.5-hour overland transfer to Satun Pakbara Pier (as per the table below).
