Walking the Blessing Trail (Half Day)

Although the country is predominantly Buddhist, a tradition of mass immigration has ensured plenty of religious diversity in Myanmar. This patchwork of different cultures and traditions is most evident in Yangon, still the biggest city in the nation by far. This walking tour gives a precious insight to the intimate workings of the city and its people. Kicking off in Chinatown at Kheng Hock Keong Temple, the journey proceeds through the buzzing downtown area passing mosques, churches, Hindu temples and even a synagogue along the way. With an insightful guide on hand, guests will learn about how this diversity came to be and how it is managed and nurtured in the modern era. Guests will also learn about offerings and blessings in each place of worship. Beyond the major religions there’s the opportunity discover local Burmese traditions such as ancestor worship, astrology and even the lottery.
