Destination News

  • Special Travel Advisory:

Please note that this year’s Chuseok holidays will take place from October 2nd until October 12th, creating an extended break of nearly 10 days—the longest in Korea in recent years! This rare occasion combines three national holidays: Chuseok, National Foundation Day (3rd October) and Hangeul Day (9th October), leading to widespread closures and limited services nationwide.

Due to this, EXO Korea will not be able to assist with train and intercity bus ticket bookings during this period. For any travel planned around these dates, it is strongly recommended that travel advisors consult with their dedicated travel specialist as early as possible to secure accommodations, alternative transportation or revised itineraries.

Thank you for your understanding, EXO Korea remains available to provide support before and after the holiday period!

  • Gimje Horizon Festival:
Celebrate Korea’s rural charm at the Gimje Horizon Festival, typically held from late September to early October in the expansive Byeokgolje plains of Jeollabuk-do. Known for its unique landscape where sky and earth meet, the festival features traditional farming experiences, harvest games, cultural parades and hands-on folk activities. It’s an excellent opportunity for visitors to connect with Korea’s agricultural heritage and enjoy vibrant countryside festivities. Free admission with select paid programs.

  • Jinju Namgang Yudeung Lantern Festival:
Witness the Namgang River aglow with thousands of lanterns at the Jinju Namgang Yudeung Lantern Festival, taking place in early to mid-October. Originally rooted in a tradition to honour fallen heroes of the Imjin War, this breathtaking event features floating lanterns, fireworks, traditional performances and opportunities for guests to release their own wish lanterns. The festival offers a deeply moving and visually stunning experience that combines history, art and emotion. Admission fees apply.
