Relax, Explore, Bask in the Beach Scenery; it’s all here in Hua Hin, Thailand

Ever wonder why Hua Hin is such a popular beach getaway? Being close to Bangkok certainly helps! But there is more to it than that.

Ever wonder why Hua Hin is such a popular beach getaway? Being close to Bangkok certainly helps! But there is more to it than that. The town exudes a sleepy almost lazy atmosphere that goes down well for locals looking to get away from the bustle of Bangkok. It is not as commercialized as other Thai beach destinations, so you’re sure to get a quiet experience here. That is not to say there isn’t anything to do. Some of Thailand’s best golf courses are here, as well as paint ball and ATV parks and a Go-Kart track for the family. The local night market satisfies shopping aficionados. Seafood restaurants by the beach will satisfy taste buds. So, what are you waiting for?

Alright so let’s get a move on. The ride itself is pretty interesting. As you head out of Bangkok’s highway, you’ll slowly notice high-rise buildings being replaced with factories, followed by salt fields and rice paddies. And from there, the scenery is green with your occasional small town thrown in. The ride to Hua Hin takes about two and a half hours.

Once in town, feel free to stretch those arms and legs and bask in this beachside town. Do what you would normally do, swim, explore the beach, sun bathe, hang out with your loved ones, it’s all in the cards. Hua Hin is also a small town and certainly worth exploring. The town’s rail station has an old 1800’s look and feel to it and an attraction the locals are certainly proud of. The beachside resort is also slowly becoming a center for arts and crafts with many shops and centers springing up. The Hua Hin Arts and Crafts Centre is recommended.

Did you know that the Royal Family has a summer palace here? This again proves the town’s popularity with the Thais. Facing the sea with vast ornamental gardens, it is a beautiful place.

Nope, we haven’t forgotten about you nature people and outdoorsman. Not too far from Hua Hin is Sam Roi Yot National Park. The place is renowned for its limestone mountains, mangrove swamps, beaches and several species of local and migrating birds. Certainly a thing of beauty. Pala-U Waterfall is also not too far from town and is home to verdant forests and a range of bird and butterfly species. For divers, head to Koh Singto and see the type of marine life that call the Hua Hin shores home.

These three nights at Hua Hin will certainly be a relaxing affair. You’ll certainly feel refreshed before heading out and back into Bangkok. See what else is in store in for you with these Thailand tours.
