Each year, EXO Travel’s Leadership Summit brings together senior leaders from across EXO to share ideas, align on priorities and look ahead to what’s next. This year’s summit took place in beautiful Langkawi, Malaysia. Both energising and practical, it was an opportunity to reconnect, share progress and explore how we can continue to deliver thoughtful, high-impact travel experiences in an ever-changing landscape. With ambitious plans in motion and new destinations on the horizon, the sessions focused on refining the way we present experiences, improving proposal quality and better equipping our partners to sell compelling, creative itineraries. It was a valuable moment to ensure that, as we grow, we remain aligned in our mission to deliver exceptional travel across Asia.
Taking action through team building
One of the most meaningful moments of the summit took place outside the meeting room. As a team, we took part in a hands-on mangrove reforestation activity at the Langkawi UNESCO Global Geopark, in collaboration with local non-profit JungleWalla. The activity, part of a wider reforestation effort aimed at restoring critical coastal ecosystems, allowed our leadership team to connect with nature while contributing in a tangible way to the protection of this biodiverse environment.
In addition, EXO Travel donated $10,000 to The Datai Pledge, an impactful sustainability initiative launched by The Datai Langkawi. The pledge supports four key pillars: Pure for the Future, Wild for the Wildlife, Fish for the Sea and Youth for the Future. Each is designed to safeguard Langkawi’s natural heritage and empower local communities. The donation will go towards the Pledge and especially MARECET initiative that expands dolphin conservation efforts and supports environmental education programmes.
Evolving our tools and resources
The summit also served as a platform to preview the next generation of digital tools designed to support our partners and streamline operations. From EXO Create, our upcoming itinerary-building platform, to a suite of AI-powered capabilities currently in development, our digital team is already on track to deliver game-changing tools that will make it easier than ever to craft, customise and confirm journeys.
These innovations are being designed with our partners in mind, helping simplify workflows and open up new possibilities for growth. The goal is simple: to make working with EXO more efficient, more flexible and more rewarding than ever.
A stronger, more connected team
More than anything, the summit was a reminder of the power of collaboration and of our shared values. Whether it was sharing tips for improving trip proposals or brainstorming how best to spotlight public holidays in communications, every session reflected the creativity and commitment of our team. This shared energy and purpose is what continues to drive EXO forward as we grow into new regions and find new ways to deliver exceptional travel.
A fitting finale
The summit concluded on a celebratory note with a gala dinner honouring our Best Team Members of the Year winners from across our destinations. It was a chance to acknowledge the dedication and excellence of individuals who go above and beyond in their roles, helping shape the EXO experience each and every day. They participated in ‘Shaping the Future’ through a session with C-level executives from EXO during which they shared their ideas of how we can scale and improve our organization.
The event closed with a sunset cruise around the shores of Langkawi, offering time to unwind, reflect and enjoy the natural beauty of the destination together.
