Take a scenic journey into the Thai countryside and learn about one of Thailand’s lending conservation projects. Take time to wander around the park and meet and greet the animals. The main feature here is elephants but Wildlife Friends Foundation Thailand is home to many species of animal from all over the planet. A lovely dinner is served at the lodge. Wake the next morning surrounded by the wildlife of the project.
Itinerary
📍 Bangkok – Wildlife Friends Foundation Thailand, Phetchaburi (176 km): 2.30 hr
Depart from Bangkok and drive south for approximately 2.30 hours to Phetchaburi, heading towards Wildlife Friends Foundation Thailand (WFFT). As a NGO, WFFT is a foundation and project with the main aim of supporting better living for rescued animals, letting them live freely in the forest. WFFT takes animals who have been maltreated or have been rescued from miserable situations and re-homes them at the park to give the animals a chance to thrive again and lead a better life. The park’s overall objective is to rehabilitate the animals to release them into the wild.
Upon arrival at the park, you will be warmly welcomed at the “I-Love-Phants Lodge” or elephant glamping site, and be briefed about the project and today’s activities.
First off at Pailin elephant closure, talk and discuss about elephants in Thai culture and how elephants have been misused for work and in the tourism industry, and how they have been rescued. Following the talk, enjoy lunch at the lodge or the camp. Lunch is served in a buffet style with Thai favorites and vegetarian options, along with fresh seasonal fruits.
After lunch, there will be an afternoon encounter with wildlife of many kinds like Orangutans, Elephants, Stump-Tailed Macaques, Jackals, Siamang, Gibbons, Monkeys, and Bears. Visit the animal rescue center and conservation center, including the tiger rescue center. This is Thailand’s first and only tiger rescue center where tigers, together with fishing cats and mountain lions, live in a lush natural retreat.
Later in the day, meet and greet the elephants. be friend with them, help make nutritious food for them, and feed them before saying farewell. Spend your evening relaxing at the lodge.
