With a rich history and exotic cultures nestled amongst jungle-clad hills, the Thai province Kanchanaburi has a wide range of offerings for travelers. This four-day adventure travels west from Bangkok, via the famous floating markets, to arrive at the notorious 'Bridge on the River Kwai'. A journey along the 'Death Railway' then takes guests further west towards the bustling border town of Sangkhlaburi, where large lakes, golden temples and many ethnic groups await.
Early this morning, drive south from Bangkok to the garden province of Samut Songkhram and head to the famous Maeklong Railway Market, where you will get a glimpse of Thai local life. Take a walk through the market, located along the railway track, and witness the dexterity and speed of the vendors as they quickly pack up their stalls just before 9:45 a.m., when the train approaches, briefly halting shopping. Then, visit the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market and take a long-tail boat ride through the canals to see how Thai people live alongside the intricate waterways in this area.
Then, drive onward to Kanchanaburi. Upon arrival, make a brief stop at the famous Bridge on the River Kwai, built by Allied prisoners of war during
World War II. Visit the Art Gallery & War Museum and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Continue to the historic Pak Phraek Street, lined with charming houses, and stop for coffee at a local café in the area. Return to the hotel.

After an early breakfast at the hotel, depart for a visit to the War Cemetery and the Thai-Burma Railway Museum. Then, drive to the River Kwai Bridge Train Station for a short train ride along the infamous “Death Railway,” passing over the wooden viaducts along the River Kwai and enjoying the breathtaking views of the Kwai Gorge. (Train departs at 10:50 a.m. and arrives at 11:57 a.m.)

After lunch, drive to Sangkhlaburi, a remote small town in Kanchanaburi. Visit the Mon Village and the local market, then head to the Mon Wooden Bridge to enjoy the beautiful sunset. End your day at the charming Graph Café for evening coffee..
Overnight in Sangkhlaburi

Rise early in the morning to give alms to the monks at the Mon Village. Return to the resort for breakfast. After breakfast, drive to Wat Wang Wiwekaram, the most important and revered Buddhist temple in Sangkhlaburi District, where Thai and Mon people live together peacefully. The temple was built to replace the previous temple, which is now underwater. Then, take a boat trip on Songkaria Lake to visit the Sunken Temple, one of the must-see “Unseen Thailand” attractions. During the dry season, you can enter the temple when the water level is low, but in the rainy season, only the upper part—about one to two meters—can be seen.

After lunch, transfer back to historic Kanchanaburi and proceed directly to the safari-style tented camp on Hintok Mountain. With sweeping views of the beautiful landscape and the River Kwai, you will feel completely relaxed in this tranquil environment.

Breakfast at the hotel, then leave the resort for a short walk along the Hellfire Pass Walking Trail to see the most striking section, where soldiers were forced to remove rock using nothing more than picks, hammers, and their bare hands. Continue to the Hellfire Pass Museum.
Depart for Sai Yok Yai Waterfall, famous for its idyllic beauty and once visited by King Rama V. The waterfall cascades from cliffs into the Kwai Noi River. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant overlooking the waterfall.
Afterward, depart Kanchanaburi and drive back to your hotel in Bangkok.
