Welcome to Haenam!

Haenam is a scenic county located at the southernmost tip of the Korean Peninsula in Jeollanam-do province, famous for Ttangkkeut (Land's End) Village, rich history, and peaceful nature. 

Arrive at Daeheungsa Temple, nestled in the serene foothills of Duryunsan Mountain, for a memorable one-night stay.

Arrive at Daeheungsa Temple in Haenam at 15:00 to complete check-in and receive official templestay uniforms.
At 16:10, participate in a temple orientation to learn basic monastic etiquette and temple history.
Dinner is served at 17:00 in the communal dining hall, featuring simple, seasonal vegetarian temple cuisine prepared to cultivate mindfulness and gratitude.

Optionally attend the evening Yebul (Buddhist chanting ceremony) to experience monastic ritual traditions.
Enjoy personal free time from 19:00 for peaceful reflection, starry night walks, or quiet rest before lights-out at 21:00.

Wake early for optional morning Yebul chanting service at 04:00.
Enjoy a wholesome temple breakfast served at 06:00.
Spend the morning enjoying unhurried free time to meditate, stroll around the historic temple grounds, or absorb the serene natural surroundings of Duryunsan Mountain.
At 11:00, Begin personal reflection, packing, and room tidying.
Enjoy a final monastic lunch at 11:30 before concluding the programme and departing Daeheungsa Temple.

- This tour operates only on a join-in basis; private tours cannot be arranged.
- Strict temple rules apply: alcohol, smoking, pets, and loud noise are strictly prohibited on temple grounds.
- The itinerary is subject to flexible adjustments based on weather conditions and internal temple arrangements.
- Accommodation is based on traditional ondol-style rooms (sleeping on floor futons). Standard booking is on a shared-room basis (up to 4 participants per room). Single room occupancy incurs an additional charge. 
- Each room is equipped with a private shower, toilet, air conditioning, and bedding (mat, blanket, pillow).
- Participants must bring personal toiletries, towels, comfortable walking shoes, a water container, and personal medication.
- Tea conversation with a monk is not included in the relaxational programme.
- Travellers are encouraged to bring a refillable water container to minimise plastic waste.
