Itinerary

📍 Seoul Dongbu Station to Naksansa station: Bus duration: 09:00-12:00 (3 hrs)

From Seoul, begin the journey at Seoul Express Bus Terminal, easily accessible via public transportation or taxi. A pre-arranged direct bus ticket to Sokcho Bus Terminal ensures a smooth 3 hour ride to the serene coastal region. Upon arrival at Sokcho Bus Terminal, a private transfer will take guests to the park’s entrance. A brief 20-minute drive through scenic landscapes brings one to the base of the park. From there, a pleasant 10-minute walk leads to the historic Shinheungsa Temple.

Upon arrival, check in and receive an orientation introducing basic temple etiquette and the rhythm of temple life. 

The afternoon is free for rest or independent exploration of the temple grounds. Guests may also choose to participate in an optional 108 Buddhist prayer beads making activity.

Dinner features nourishing vegetarian temple cuisine, designed to embody the Buddhist principles of mindfulness and simplicity.

In the evening, partake in a Buddhist chanting ceremony, an essential part of the program, offering a profound chance to engage with the temple’s spiritual practices. Later, experience the craft of making 108 Buddhist prayer beads, symbolising mindfulness and introspection.

The day concludes with a tea meditation and starlight meditation session led by a resident monk, offering quiet reflection and mindfulness under the night sky.

Begin the day with an optional Buddhist Ceremony (Dawn Chanting), a serene experience that immerses one in the temple's tranquil spiritual rhythm.

Afterward, enjoy a revitalising breakfast, carefully prepared to nourish both body and mind.

The morning is free for quiet reflection or a gentle walk along the Seoraksan temple trails, combining light trekking with scenic mountain views.

Conclude the retreat with check-out, leaving with a sense of peace, mindfulness, and connection to the temple's deep spiritual heritage. 

After check-out, walk towards Seoraksan Cable Car with your guide, where a new adventure awaits. Enjoy a scenic ride up to the mountain's top, followed by a small hike to one of the peaks, offering panoramic views of the majestic Seoraksan range

Upon returning, retrieve your bag and a private transfer will be pre-arranged to take you to Sokcho Bus Terminal. From there, board the bus back to Seoul Express Bus Terminal, marking the end of this memorable spiritual journey.
