Make room in your Japan itinerary for this escape away from the metropolis of Tokyo and into the beautiful nature of the Mt. Fuji region. Relax with a night of glamping (glamourous camping) at a finely appointed campsite and awake to see sunrise illuminating Japan’s most famous mountain. Enjoy a full day of outdoor activity with a cycling tour through scenic nature and charming villages.

Itinerary

Meet at Shin-Fuji station at 13:00 for the pick-up service and transfer to the Fujinomiya base camp, the perfect spot to relax and take in the beautiful views of the countryside and of course Japan’s national treasure, Mt. Fuji.

The base camp includes an indoor living area with a dining room, bathrooms, kitchen and Wi-Fi, so the scenery can be admired from inside or out on the deck.

In the evening, dinner will be a delicious BBQ, or in the winter a local hotpot, and local ingredients will be provided for cooking at the campsite. The staff will be there to explain how to cook the ingredients and use the grill. In the case of rain, there is also the option to have dinner at a local restaurant.

Sleep in a luxury bell tent, perfect for boutique glamping and suitable for all seasons.

Overnight in Fujinomiya

🍗 Dinner

In the morning, take in the beautiful sunrise over breakfast from the local bakery. Then meet the guide for a cycling eco tour through the satoyama mountain village.

First visit Shiraito Falls, a waterfall that comes directly from Mt. Fuji and flows in thin white streams resembling hanging threads of silk, which is where it gets its name. Explore the pool at the bottom of the waterfalls and take photos with the breath-taking scenery as a backdrop.

After cycling through more of the picturesque countryside and learning the village’s history, stop for some lunch.

Savour handmade soba (buckwheat noodles) with finely battered seasonal vegetable tempura and chat with the locals in the restaurant. The building itself is very significant within the local community and is still a gathering spot for those still living in the area.

The final stop will be for a tour of a long standing sake brewery to hear its fascinating history and family stories from the 18th generation owner. Witness the full breakdown of the sake making process from the waters of Mt. Fuji to the sake bottle itself. To top it all off, finish the day by tasting different samples of the delicious sake made at the brewery.

The tour will end at Shin-Fuji station.
