Lake Nasser Odyssey: Aswan to Abu Simbel

Embarkation takes place in Aswan before lunch. The afternoon allows time to settle into the cabins or relax by the pool. In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner followed by a traditional Nubian folk show in the lounge bar.

Morning exploration begins at the Temple of Kalabsha, a colossal structure built during the Roman era and dedicated to the Nubian solar deity Mandulis. Relocated to modern New Kalabsha island to rescue the monument from rising lake waters, the complex displays intricate relief carvings depicting pharaonic rituals. 

Returning to the ship, the afternoon offers scenic sailing across desert waters towards Wadi El Seboua, concluding with a sunset cocktail gathering.

The day begins at Wadi El Seboua, known as the Valley of the Lions. Walk along a dramatic avenue of stone sphinxes leading into a rock-cut temple commissioned by Ramses II. 

Sailing onward brings the cruise to Amada, the oldest surviving monument on Lake Nasser. Built during the 18th Dynasty by Pharaoh Thutmose III and Amenhotep II, the temple is known for its well-preserved painted reliefs. The evening concludes with a traditional Galabya-themed event on board.

Today, the cruise glides past Kasr Ibrim for views of an ancient, strategically placed mountaintop citadel transformed into an island by the reservoir waters. Take in the site from the sundeck while learning more about its history.

By afternoon, arrive in Abu Simbel to explore its two colossal rock-cut temples. Built by Pharaoh Ramses II, the site features towering 20-metre seated statues dedicated to himself, alongside a second carved temple honouring Queen Nefertari.
