A holidaying paradise, Southeast Asia attracts her fair share of visitors yearning for tropical beaches, zesty food, warm weather, friendly people, interesting culture and warm hospitality. Some also come here for martial arts. We all know of Muay Thai’s popularity around the world. Many come to Thailand to train while others pick it up from dojos and gyms from their own country, wherever it may be.

Did you know that Muay Thai bears a striking similarity to Cambodia, Burmese and Lao martial arts? If you weren’t told of it, you might just not know the difference between the four. Known as Pradal Serey in Cambodia, Lethwei in Myanmar ande Muay Lao in Laos, all eight limbs are used to attack (and in Lethwei’s case a ninth, the head butt). There are even attempts to unite all these styles into one unifying sport. Although similar, each style is also unique, so unifying them all has been unsuccessful.

Come by Southeast Asia and experience a bit of the culture while also admiring the skill and precision of each sport. Visit our multi-country tours page for some ideas into a holidaying experience in Southeast Asia. Contact us if you have any questions.
