Often compared to the diverse and exotic flavors of neighboring Thailand’s spicy gastronomy, Myanmar’s delicacies can frequently be relegated to unjust descriptions such as uninspired and oily. This, however, could not be further from the truth, and the eclectic blend of cultures that lay influence on Burmese cuisine has brought with it a variety of dishes to each dinner, that rivals even the most carefully curated banquets.
EXO Travel’s new culinary experience, cooking with cats, offers much more than a simple cooking class, working with a vocational learning center to provide students with hospitality and life skills, the experience supports the continued development of the community. Foraging through the organic gardens under supervision, offers an incredible learning opportunity into the staple ingredients of the exciting dishes that will later be prepared.
“We are always looking to add a social element to new products. Not only do you get to learn about different Myanmar cuisines and cooking techniques, you get a rewarding experience by working with disadvantaged students,” said Moet Moet, Assistant Product Manager.
Cooking with Cats takes place at Inthar Heritage House, a combination restaurant, vocational training center, organic garden and home for Burmese Cats.
