Nat Ma Taung, otherwise known as Mount Victoria is a 3,053 meter mountain in Western Myanmar’s Chin State. Ok, so where do you fit in? We have a pretty cool adventure made for you centered around this less-explored region of the country. Enjoy jeep rides through rugged terrain, hikes through mountain trails and unique experiences with the hill tribe people in our Mount Victoria Expedition.
No time will be wasted! Hop on a jeep from Bagan and enjoy the seven hour ride to Kanpetlet. Those seven hours will fly by, as your anticipation, the beautiful Burmese wildlife scenery and refreshing air will all contribute to the clock ticking faster than usual. A halfway break will allow you to interact with the locals at Kazunma Village before you reach your destination, with a sunset view waiting your arrival.
Start the next day with a drive to the starting point of your trek. Then, start your unforgettable journey! This experience will give you an opportunity to learn about several species of oak & temperate tree species, natural & native orchids and rare birds typical of the Himalayas further north, as well as many unique species. You’ll also get to observe traditional ways of life in Chin State and meet the famed tattoo-faced women of the area you have heard so much about.
Celebrate your successful exploration to the Peak of Mount Victoria by enjoying your lunch and drink at the peak. Then, sightsee around the peak and leisurely trek down to the base camp where your car awaits to transfer you back to the hotel.
Your final day also includes more than just a farewell to Mount Victoria. You’ll spend portions of the day exploring Oak Pho Chin Village and Kanpetlet. You’ll have time to enjoy a cup of tea with the locals at Kanpetlet and exchange life stories with them.
