Khao Sok is one of Thailand’s scenic national parks. It comprises the largest area of virgin forest in Southern Thailand.

Khao Sok is one of Thailand’s scenic national parks. It comprises the largest area of virgin forest in Southern Thailand. Even better, remnants of the park contains forests that some experts say is older and contains a more diverse plant and animal species than the Amazon rainforest! One of the animals that call the national park home is the Asian Elephant. Smaller than its African cousin, they are still a massive beast! They are gentle by nature and are more than happy to have you on their back while they rumble through the jungle and explore Khao Sok.

Arrive at the elephant camp. Here you’ll learn more about these guys and the relationship between man (mahout) and beast. After your educational revelation, embark on one of several options.

Option A: The Elephant Experience option gives you the opportunity to find out firsthand what elephant and mahout go through on a daily basis. You’ll clean and feed the elephant as well as plant some of their food which will be ready for next year’s crop. If you love elephants and want to find out more about their lives, this option will surely suit you.

Option B: The Elephant Trekking option, says it all. You’ll climb on the backs of these guys and experience the rainforest from there. See limestone karsts pass you by. Hear the jungle animals. Get up and close with the rainforest. If you are an outdoorsman, this option should certainly satisfy your adventure craving.

The cool thing about this Elephant Hills Jungle Safari adventure trip is that you’ll be staying in a safari style accommodation. And yes, it’s called Elephant hills. And no worries, we’ve made sure that all the comforts and luxuries are there. And there’s even a jungle bar on-site!

Wake up to the sound of the jungle from your camp. Today’s journey is on water. See the limestone formations spring right out of the ground. And with the jungle surrounding the area, just epic! Swim amongst this scenery, if you like (and if the weather permits). Return back to base and relax at the bar. Share your stories with others before a nice night in your luxury tent.

We got elephant, boat and now, it’s time to explore the jungle with your very own two feet. This is a wonderful opportunity to really see and experience the fauna and flora up close. No rush, just stroll at your own pace. If you’re lucky (or unlucky), you may come across the Bua Put, otherwise known as the Rafflesia Kerrii, a huge flower (50-90 centimeters in diameter) that reeks of rotten meat. The reason? To attract flies for pollination. The national park is one of the few places on earth the flower is known to grow at.
