What if you can gingerly stroll across two great historical and proud kingdoms in a single trip? Not only will you be able to do that in Exotissimo’s Coast to Coast Cambodia tour, you will also feast your eyes on grand temples and scenic ruins as well as encountering small villages, friendly locals and destinations well off the beaten track. Relaxation on tropical island hideaways conclude your experience.

First stop Bangkok. And a great way to kick off things. The city’s got everything, food stalls, street shops, mega malls, restaurants and everything else in between. If you also like humid weather and traffic congestion, you will also love Bangkok. Sarcasm aside, there are ways around this though, with canal boats and mass transit trains offering travel alternatives and most indoor establishments consisting of refreshingly cool air-conditioners. Oh, and all the main sites, temples and other attractions will be visited here.

On your way to Cambodia, hop on a train and head to the nearby historical town of Chacherngsao. With history comes temples, and there are some fine ones here. The side canal market with its old shop houses and stalls is also a highlight.

Welcome to the Wild West. Step into Cambodia via the border town of Pailin. The town has been known by the wild west moniker because of it being a Khmer Rouge stronghold way after the demise of the party in 1979. Today, it is a friendly and sleepy town and it is easy to get around on foot.

Battambang is next on your travels. The town is renowned for its majestic colonial buildings and statues depicting animals and deities. Battambang also offers great opportunities for you to blend in with the local folk with visits to villages and farms. Phnom Sampeau is a unique hill in an otherwise flat region, with a fine hilltop temple and the notorious killing caves, which are cruel reminders of Cambodia’s troubled past.

Head off to Siem Reap and the temples of Angkor, the highlight of many in a Cambodian trip. Many of the temples will be visited during your stay here, including the most famous of them all, Angkor Wat. A viewing experience of the archeological park on a tethered balloon is also on the cards.

On the way to Cambodia’s capital, stop by Sambor Prei Kuk. The jungle has claimed back some of its real estate and nothing is going to stand in its way, including ancient temples! It all makes for a one of a kind scenery. Phnom Penh is a bustling city, majestically located at the confluence of the mighty rivers of the Mekong and Tonlé Sap. The Royal Palace and Toul Sleng Museum are must visits.

Now for some natural scenery. And there is no place in Cambodia that can provide it like how Kirirom National Park can. The name Kirirom means Mountain of Joy, so yes, expect some elevation and of course, memorable moments such as chance encounters with jungle animals and treks to waterfalls.

Now head off to some islands. First, Koh Kong in Cambodia. There is also a cool waterfall here as well as an abundance of wildlife colorful butterflies, bizarre-looking insects and rare birds. Afterwards, head to Koh Chang in Thailand. And relax…
