For all you bird watching enthusiasts out there, how would you like to combine your pastime with an enlightening tour of Cambodia’s most prized relics? That’s right, with our Cambodia Bird Watching and Nature tour, you can do both! After awing at Angkor Wat and other impressive ruins at Angkor Thom, head out to the Cambodian wildlife and find out what kinds of birds call it home.

One of the first images that pop in many people’s heads when they hear the word Cambodia is the imposing figure of Angkor Wat. Besides, a silhouette of it is in the country’s flag. No time will be wasted upon arrival to Siem Reap, you will get to see this grand temple and others on your first day. Included is a view of the entire area on a tethered balloon.

Included in your temple touring experience is a traditional Cambodia blessing from a monk. You will also explore Angkor in an eco-friendly vehicle, giving those tired temple touring legs some rest time. Ta Phrom is another highlight in Angkor. Why? Well, these temple structures have been left they way they are. Yes, trees, shrubs, jungle and anything natural has grown in, on and around these buildings, making it one of the most picturesque in Angkor.

Now it’s time to see some birds! First off, visit the Sam Veasna Center in Siem Reap. The center promotes wildlife conservation in Cambodia and develops bird watching sites in co-operation with the Wildlife Conservation Society and local communities. They provide a unique opportunity for visitors to observe local wildlife without disrupting their natural habitat. Afterward, head off to Ang Trapaeng Thmor protected wetlands area, approximately two and a half hours from Siem Reap and see what’s there.

That’s not all folks. Your stay in Siem Reap also includes a visit to the Angkor Centre for Conservation of Biodiversity. The purpose of the center is to protect threatened wildlife and train local villagers in the sustainable use of natural resources. You will also visit the Landmine Museum, opened and operated by a former child soldier during the Khmer Rouge regime who is now working to de-mine Cambodia.

You will hit the fields one more time this trip, as we take you to on a memorable three hour boat trip on the Tonle Sap to the Prek Toal biosphere where a whole host of birds are waiting your discovery! Visit the Prek Toal Environmental Research Station with a specialist bird guide and take a boat trip through the sanctuary. Enjoy!
