Museum opening
On 30 July, Bank Al-Maghrib officially inaugurated the Fez Medina Currency Museum (Musée de la Monnaie de Fès-Médina). Located in the historic former central bank building in the Qattanine district inside the UNESCO-listed Medina, this new museum displays rare coins, banknotes and historical monetary artefacts tracing Morocco’s history from Antiquity to modern times. A fantastic cultural stop to incorporate into Fez walking tours!
