EXO’s Sales Team travelled to Morocco for this year’s Sales Academy to experience the destination first-hand and see the groundwork our local team has been laying. Moving through Marrakech, the Atlas Mountains and beyond, the group found themselves continually surprised by the variety and depth of the country, as well as the confidence already demonstrated by the team on the ground.
‘In less than a year since launch, the Morocco team has already built impressive local relationships and destination know-how powered by personal experience and the kind of on-the-ground presence you only get by being there every day’, Alex Shaw, our Sales Manager for North Europe, shared.
These early impressions are now laying the groundwork for how our team will guide key accounts from their respective markets on positioning Morocco for the seasons ahead.

Perfect for all ages
One of the strongest impressions was how naturally Morocco adapts to different travel styles. Experiences that feel engaging for adults remain accessible for younger guests, while still offering depth for those seeking culture or comfort.
Sophie Rowley, Sales Manager for the UK, said, ‘I kept finding myself thinking how perfect this would be as a family destination… the pace, the walkability and the constant sense of discovery make it incredibly suitable for curious children as well as adults’.
Across medinas, mountain kasbahs and quieter neighbourhoods, the destination consistently balanced activity with ease, allowing journeys to feel varied without becoming demanding.
Plenty of adventure and off-the-beaten path opportunities
Exploring away from the familiar routes and adapting to the local rhythm led to some of the standout moments for Alex, Sales Manager for Benelux & Scandinavia.
During the trip, he joined the Morocco office in scouting new gravel routes for a key adventure partner, heading from the Atlas and Anti-Atlas Mountains down to Taroudant by dirt tracks, and then on to Agadir.
‘Many of these tracks don’t even show up on apps like Strava or Garmin, so it was very much local insight and on-the-ground expertise in real time that made it possible,’ Alex shared. ‘It honestly made for one of the most exciting adventures of my life and that’s saying something seeing as I’ve lived in Myanmar for seven years!’
He was especially fond of interactions he had with local villagers facilitated by our local teams, which he credits as being some of the most memorable parts of the trip.
Full of variety and contrast
Kate Winslow, our Sales Manager for North America, said a great part of Morocco’s appeal lies in the diverse array of experiences one can enjoy over relatively short distances.
In Marrakech, the ancient medina was full of alleyways where storytellers, food stalls and shopkeepers created an atmosphere that felt both theatrical and deeply rooted in tradition. Then moving just beyond the old city walls, the city opened up completely, with contemporary spaces and refined dining for a seamless blend of heritage and luxury.
Heading into the Atlas Mountains provided a striking counterpoint to the city. As the landscape shifted to dramatic peaks and quiet valleys, the group’s pace slowed.
‘Surrounded by snow-dusted mountains, traditional Berber villages, and crisp mountain air, we found space for reflection and meaningful conversation in a fitting end to an inspiring week’, Kate said.
Building itineraries with local knowledge
Experiencing Morocco first-hand provides a clearer sense of how its variety, pace and encounters combine into a cohesive journey. From city to mountains to desert landscapes, the destination reveals itself gradually, shaped as much by people as by place.
‘I was seriously impressed by the togetherness, diversity and depth of experience in the team at EXO Morocco’, Alex said. ‘Launching a new office in an established destination isn’t easy, but they already feel close-knit and fully aligned. It gives me every confidence to promote both the destination and our services to my markets with full force’.
