Meet our UK & Ireland Sales Manager
SOPHIE ROWLEY
Sophie recently relocated to the Warwickshire countryside from Cheltenham, in the United Kingdom. Her passion for travel sparked at a young age when she travelled with her family, such as on long-haul holidays to America and beyond. She fell in love with the excitement of flying, the thrill of visiting new exciting places and meeting people from across the pond.
‘I knew I had to see more of the world and experience new cultures and places,’ Sophie explains. ‘I spent my younger years planning holidays, creating brochures for our trips, and presenting ideas to my parents to keep the travel buzz alive; I am a self-confessed travel geek!’
Realising her passion, she decided to study International Tourism and Hospitality Management at the University of Gloucestershire, knowing this would open the door to overseas opportunities. During and after her studies, she had a chance to work with a few well-known travel companies and extensively explore Asia and Australia.
While working for a tailor-made travel agency, Sophie partnered with EXO as her DMC. She worked with our product and operations teams to plan and design tailor-made itineraries, as well as developing new products for her guests.
‘After over a decade in the industry, I was ready for a new challenge. And what better place to be than t0 join the EXO family’, said Sophie.
Being an innovative, knowledgeable, sustainable, responsible, and committed to positive development of destination, Sophie is proud to be a part of EXO.
Also, the diversity of culture within the company gives her a buzz and is always a motivating factor for her to continue her passion in travelling, to get to know more people, to learn endlessly, and apply her knowledge to something tangible.
“I love everything about travel. It’s always a struggle for me to pick a favourite place, or a favourite experience.” However, she adores and recommends getting off the beaten path and enjoying remote and natural experiences.
A few highlights she recommended include trekking deep in the Cardamom Mountains of Cambodia, trailing through rural villages in the remote Shan State of Myanmar or spending time learning about Orangutan conservation deep in the rainforests of Danum Valley in Borneo.
As UK Sales manager, she is keen to share her passion for Asia and extensive product knowledge with our partners. ‘I believe EXO has something truly special and I am excited to be working with such a knowledgeable, innovative company that continues to push the boundaries of what’s possible in Asia and beyond,’ she explains.
