Discover Hue and Hoi An (12 Days / 11 Nights)

There is no bad time to visit the historic cities of Hue and Hoi An in Central Vietnam.  The latter, however, is particularly beguiling on Ancient Town Night, a fortnightly festival held on the 1st (new moon) and 14th (full moon) of every lunar month.

On these evenings, streetlights in the ancient port are switched off and the town is lit by the glow of traditional silk lanterns. Various activities are on offer, including a night market, ‘bai choi’ singing (a type of folklore art performance), the giving of flower garlands and the opportunity to watch lanterns being released onto the peaceful Hoai River.

Before arriving in Hoi An for the festival, guests will have the opportunity to explore Hue. Vietnam’s imperial capital is one of its most charismatic cities. Its centrepiece, the citadel, is a highlight, but also seductive are the impressive tombs of the emperors of the Nguyen Dynasty.
