Following the meal, hop on a bicycle for a 6-km leisure ride along back roads, rice paddy fields (seasonal) and through picturesque hamlets to the village of Duong Lam. Visit Mia Pagoda, built in the 15th century and sheltering 287 figures of all sizes, among which are statues of Buddha and statues of the ‘Eight Vajra Deities’. Then, visit Mong Phu temple in Mong Phu commune – one of the few hamlets where the original village entrance remains.

Continue biking through narrow lanes to admire the ancient laterite stone houses. A stone found in hot and wet tropical regions, laterite is a soft rock composed of iron and aluminum oxides. Take a break to visit a typical local house and enjoy a cup of tea while chatting with the host about their lives in this historic area of Vietnam.
