Itinerary
📍 Phuket – Khao Sok National Park (195 km): 3.30 hr Khao Lak – Khao Sok National Park (140 km): 2.30 hr
Pick up from your hotel in Phuket or Khao Lak and transfer to Surat Thani. Arrive at the Ban Ta Khun office, where you will meet your English-speaking local guide and ensure you have everything you need before your trip to Chiew Larn Dam. Once at the dam, you can obtain your park entry ticket and purchase any snacks or toiletries before boarding your boat.
Board a longtail boat with your guide to the raft house. Upon arrival, check in and enjoy a lunch of traditional Thai dishes.
After the meal, take some time to relax before embarking on an afternoon hike through the jungle, learning about the flora and fauna of one of the world’s oldest forests. As the day winds down, take a long-tail boat ride with your guide for wildlife spotting, with the chance to see macaques and langur monkeys, hornbills and eagles, gibbons, and, if you are lucky, a wild elephant.
Return to the raft house and enjoy a traditional southern Thai style before retiring to your floating bungalow.

The next day, enjoy a simple but tasty breakfast of rice porridge or eggs and toast. After breakfast at the hotel, spend the afternoon at your leisure—swim, explore the jungle by kayak, or simply relax and enjoy the serene surroundings of your raft house. Homestyle Thai lunch will be served by the lake.
After lunch, head out to a trailhead for a second half-day hike in the world’s oldest forest. Your guide will point out the unique flora and fauna of Khao Sok National Park. Depending on the season, the hike may lead to a cave, a waterfall, or a viewpoint.
End the day with dinner at the restaurant, and sleep well as the lullaby of the forest hums in the distance.

The next morning, rise early for a morning mist safari. As you watch the morning unfold over the lake, your guide will point out wildlife and the unusual ferns and orchids hanging from the trees. Return to the raft house for breakfast, typically rice porridge or eggs and toast.
After check-out, board your long-tail boat and enjoy a scenic trip through the area before arriving back at the pier on the mainland. Upon arrival, lunch is served at a local restaurant or packed as a lunch box before transferring to Phuket or Khao Lak.

- Please wear non-slip shoes and loose, comfortable clothing. Bring a small bag or backpack with a change of clothes in case you get wet, as well as sun protection or a raincoat depending on the weather. If you plan to swim in the river, please bring swimwear and a towel. Please note that all itineraries above are subject to local conditions and may change in order accordingly.

- Floating Raft Houses on Chiew Lan Lake have limited hours of electricity which is typically available only from 18:00 to 06:00. Also, the telephone signal is extremely limited or non-existent while the WIFI signal can be weak and unstable.
