The journey begins with a warm welcome at Sandakan Airport, where guests are greeted by a dedicated guide and transferred by private vehicle to the lush rainforest environment of Sepilok.
The first experience is a visit to the renowned Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre. Here, guests will view an introductory documentary before taking a guided walk along the jungle boardwalk to the feeding platform. This offers a rare opportunity to observe rescued orangutans as they emerge from the canopy for their meal. A visit to the nursery follows, where young orangutans are seen developing vital survival skills.
Just next door, guests will explore the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre, home to the smallest bear species in the world. Learn about the centre’s conservation efforts while watching the sun bears roam, forage, and climb within their forest enclosures.
Upon completion of the visits, guests will check in at the serene Sepilok Nature Lodge. After lunch, the remainder of the day is at leisure to relax and take in the tranquil rainforest surroundings. In the evening, dinner will be served at the lodge, followed by a restful overnight stay.

After breakfast, guests depart Sepilok at 10:30 AM for a scenic two-hour journey to Kampung Bilit Jetty, the gateway to the Kinabatangan River. Upon arrival, guests will board an exclusive liveaboard cruise vessel — a first-of-its-kind overnight river cruise experience in this biodiverse region.
Following check-in and a short orientation, a freshly prepared lunch is served on board. In the afternoon, guests will embark on their first river safari, gliding along the Kinabatangan in search of the region’s rich wildlife. Sightings may include proboscis monkeys, hornbills, and, with luck, the elusive Bornean pygmy elephant.
As the sun begins to set, guests can unwind on deck with a casual happy hour, soaking in the tranquil atmosphere. A delicious dinner is served on board, after which guests fall asleep to the soothing sounds of the rainforest under a blanket of stars.
