Itinerary

📍 Distance and journey time (approximation): Tokyo Station to Shin-Fuji Station: 1 h

Arrive at Shin-Fuji station around 14:00 by bullet train, where a car awaits to bring guests to their home for the next two nights.

Enter a beautifully renovated house that has been lovingly decorated with a curated collection of ukiyoe prints and art books. Even the bathroom includes a Hokusai mural with Japan’s favourite Shiba Inu dog riding the great wave, not to mention a stunning view of Mt. Fuji right outside.

Enjoy a home-cooked dinner prepared by a group of enthusiastic local mothers, eager to share the flavors of the region.

This morning enjoy a beautiful breakfast which will be prepared in the dining room. Set out for a morning guided walk of the local village with a focus on seeing Mt. Fuji through the eyes of Hokusai.

Visit local temples and shrines as well as the beautiful countryside nature, taking in the rivers, trees and rice fields. There is also time to explore the town and savour a locally sourced organic lunch with delicious sake from the local brewery if one wishes. 

Along the tour meet with a local artist and sketch Mt. Fuji with a fude calligraphy pen in the same style as Hokusai. 
 
Dinner will be at a local restaurant or at the house, depending on season and preference.
