Itinerary

📍 Denpasar – Jimbaran (7.3 km): 25 mins

Upon arrival at Ngurah Rai International Airport, meet and greet your local representative. You will then be privately transferred to your hotel in Jimbaran.

Check in at the selected hotel and rest of the day at leisure to adjust with the tropical climate.

06.30 am leave the hotel, you will be transferred back to the airport with the assistance of an English-speaking guide to catch your morning flight to Sumba.

Arrival at Udara Lede Kalumbang Airport, Tambolaka. For domestic flights, pick up your luggage and meet with your English-speaking guide outside the main building to start your program.

After having lunch at a local restaurant, we will begin our journey to Bondo Kapumbu Village, a hidden gem and traditional village in Southwest Sumba. Next, we'll visit Ketewel Beach to meet the salt farmers and observe their traditional salt-making process. We'll conclude today's trip by enjoying the breathtaking Sumba landscape at sunset from Lendongara Hills.

First off, visit Ratenggaro Village in the Kodi area, known for its traditional high-roofed houses—the tallest in all of Sumba—built entirely by hand using traditional techniques. This village is one of the few remaining traditional settlements in the region. Though the village is a small cluster of houses, each one is capable of accommodating up to 50 family members.

Weekuri Lake, a stunning crystal-clear lagoon, is the perfect spot for swimming and relaxation. Take a refreshing dip, whether brief or leisurely, and explore the surrounding rocks and reefs, where you can catch a glimpse of the ocean on one side. A simple picnic lunch box will be provided for your convenience.

Mandorak Beach, situated next to Weekuri Lake, is protected by two towering rock ridges that extend toward the center, surrounding its crystal-clear waters. Return back to the hotel late in the afternoon, rest of the day at leisure.

Leave in the morning as we move to the western part of Sumba. First stop will be made to Talasi to explore the cashew farm and discover its production process. Immerse yourself in the authentic charm of Talasi Weetabula, where you might have the chance to meet the farmers and hear their inspiring stories. Sample their signature cashew milk and take pride in supporting grassroots communities while promoting sustainable land cultivation and local empowerment. 

Continue to Waikacura, a little oasis found in the middle of the rice fields of Sumba. Enjoy a leisure trek through the rice fields, where you'll have the opportunity to observe local farmers at work. At the end of the trek, you'll be rewarded with the sight of a breathtaking river nestled amidst the rice fields.

After lunch at the local restaurant, we will visit the stunning hidden beach of Watubela. Along the way, you'll pass through a charming village and a serene palm garden before arriving at the beach. Enjoy some time to relax by the shore, and afterward, we'll head to your next hotel in the Wanokoka area.

Today’s trip, we will take you to learn the authenticity of Sumba culture by visiting a traditional village. Warmly greeted by the locals, have the opportunity to chat with them and hear the stories of the village and the island. Following this, they will invite you to join in preparing Sumba’s traditional dishes. Once the meal is ready, you’ll enjoy lunch together. Afterward, relax with a cup of coffee or tea, spend some time with the villagers, before we move to our next destination.

Our journey continues to Lapopu Waterfall. After driving through Sumba’s vast, hilly, and lush landscape, you'll reach the area near the waterfall. To access it, you'll take a short 15-minute hike and cross a bamboo bridge. Once there, you can unwind at a comfortable spot, sit back, and enjoy the breathtaking waterfall. Or if time allows, challenge yourself by swimming through the strong current, feeling the refreshing satisfaction as you stand beneath the waterfall, immersed in a stunning natural setting. Return back to the hotel, late in the afternoon.

Morning breakfast and then checking out from the hotel for the flight back to Bali. On the way a visit will be made to Praijing Village, a traditional hillside village nestled amidst lush greenery, famous for its traditional house architecture called the uma bakulu, which means big house. It offers one of the rare opportunities to enjoy a stunning panoramic view of the entire village and observe its way of life. Take your time exploring the area; most of the homes are occupied by elders, while cheerful children are always nearby.

Then proceed to the Tambolaka airport, catch your afternoon flight to Bali.
