Beginning at the lake, today’s route is a famous one that professional riders take during the annual Tour De Singakarak.
Be prepared for a challenging 44-curved ride with the most beautiful views of Sumatra. Ride pass local villages such as the Matur Village and Koto Gadang Village.


Continue the ride to explore Ngarai Sianok (Sianok Canyon). Be mesmerised by nature’s creation of two vertically steep walls meeting at the bottom where a river meanders through lush ricefields. This gorge separates the towns of Bukittinggi and Kota Gadang. Look out for monkeys playing around the canyon.

Today, you will ride to the most fascinating flyover in West Sumatra called Kelok 9. Translated to mean ‘Nine Sharp Bends,’ Kelok 9 is a quiet but challenging route with a historical connection to the Dutch Colonial era.


Continue riding to Kota Limapuluh. This is where the inspiring Harau Valley is located. A lush green valley surrounded by stunning rock cliffs nested in the Bukit Barisan Mountain Range. Aside from the Harau Valley, the area offers an array of natural wonders including the Burai Waterfall, Sarasah Tanggo Waterfall, Aia Sonsang Lake, and the picturesque Tapuang Hill.

Covering two districts; Solok and Tanah Datar, the lake is a massive 1000 hectares. Singkarak Lake is the widest lake in Sumatra and the second biggest lake on the island, after Lake Toba.
