Upon arrival at Sultan Muhammad Kaharuddin III airport of Sumbawa Besar, meet and greet by Aman representative. As soon as the guests are driven away by car to Amanwana's exclusive peninsula, where waiting vessels gracefully escort them for approximately 45 minutes cruise journey into its glorious sanctuary, an uninterrupted will take place.

Moyo Island is located approximately eight degrees south of the equator, within the regency of Nusa Tenggara Barat. The island has been a nature reserve since 1976. Measuring forty kilometres by ten kilometres, Moyo’s highest point is 600 meters above the Flores Sea.

The total area of the island is 36,000 hectares. Along the coastline are eight villages, with a combined population of approximately 3,500 people. Fishing, farming, and trading are the subsistence of the villagers. 

In 2022, Moyo Island was designated a National Park, ensuring that its stunning landscapes and diverse marine life are protected for generations to come.

Day at leisure to enjoy the resort’s facilities or experience inhouse activities, such as paddle boarding, kayaking,  snorkeling around Amanwana beach, usage of bicycles and trekking poles.

Late afternoon time, leave the resort at 4 pm for a classic journey to experience on board the traditional wooden outrigger, Aman XIV. Order some drinks and canapés and absorb the sights and sounds of the peaceful jungle as the sun sets at the end of a magical day on Moyo Island. 

Returning back to the island as the sun goes down, discover secluded spots and special dinners that will enhance the solitude you get on Moyo Island. Designed for a special occasion, this opportunity will provide memories to look back on for a long time to come.

Bakela means ‘sharing from one platter’ in the local language. Featuring some local dishes, from Siong Sira to Singang, the dinner is a celebration of diverse Sumbawanese cuisine. Served in a lesehan picnic style (low tables and mat seating) and surrounded by flickering lanterns, Bakela depicts an authentic Sumbawanese dining experience. A traditional dance performance can also be arranged to spice up the night.

A half-day forest trail experience, combining a journey with traditional boat, four wheel drive and a leisure trek, the trails will lead you to discover Moyo’s forest and its fascinating landscape. 

Hidden behind the dense forest of Pulau Moyo, the trickle of water can be heard faintly in the middle of the silence of nature. Mata Jitu Waterfall, with its mesmerizing beauty, the beautiful scenery, complete with natural green trees. Comprising a series of cascading limestone pools and located in the centre of the island, deep in the tropical forest, the spring-fed water of the pools provides a refreshing swim to escape the heat of the day. 

Returning back to the resort for lunch at noon, and take your time to savor it.  Rest of the day at leisure.

Leave the resort at dawn approximately at 4am to catch the sunrise over Mt. Tambora. 

Explore the underwater world, bringing closer to the largest living non-mammalian vertebrate on the planet, the Whale shark. As the sun's first rays light up over Mt. Tambora, board a Amanwana dedicated speedboat and take a relaxing two-hour cruise to Saleh Bay. 

To start the day, the resort's chefs prepare a gourmet breakfast which is enjoyed on board, before entering the calm waters of the bay with an experienced guide for once in a lifetime underwater experience.  Make the most of your time with these gentle giants as they roam around the boat and the Bagan, a traditional fishing boat. Despite their size, whale sharks are very gentle and safe to swim with.

Returning back to the resort by midday and savoring your leisure lunch.

Experience a traditional wellness journey in the late afternoon, where nature's power is harnessed for your benefit. A 120-minute after-sun treatment will gently calm your sun-warmed skin

Note:
Guests who don't feel confident to swim with the Whale Sharks still have the opportunity to observe them from the boat.

Saleh Bay is fortunate to have a large population of Whale Sharks, nevertheless, sightings cannot be guaranteed on every trip.

Guests participating in Whale Shark ecotourism must adhere to standard guidelines, which are based on the Indonesian Ministry of Marine and Fisheries' codes of conduct and research from Konservasi Indonesia

Morning breakfast and check out the resort then proceed to the private jetty,  where a waiting vessel gracefully will escort you back for another 45 minutes cruise journey to Sumbawa Besar.

Meet and greet by Aman representative who will assist for your private transfer back to the airport, then onboard  to your flight to Bali.
