Komodo & Rinca By Local Boat

📍 Labuan Bajo Airport – Harbour (3 km): 10 minutes

Alternatively pick-up at the hotel in Labuan Bajo, or pick-up from the airport after a morning flight to Labuan Bajo. The small town at the most western tip of Flores is the base for exploring Komodo National Park. A local guide and private car will meet and transfer the guests to the harbour to board the local boat to cruise to the islands of Rinca and Komodo.

Airport: depending on flight arrival

Rinca Island is smaller than Komodo Island and covered with savanna. For this reason it is easy to observe the dragons and other animals such as wild deer, water buffaloes, monkeys, boars, horses. Arrive in Loh Buaya Bay of Rinca Island where you register at Komodo National Park office. Take a trek with an island ranger to see these magnificent lizards in their natural environment. The short trekking is approximately 1 hr 30 min and under guidance of a local park ranger.

Lunch is served on the boat.

Note: for guests departing from Labuan Bajo in the early morning (not arriving by airplane of the same day) on the afternoon Pink Beach can be visited after lunch, where some fantastic world class snorkeling can be enjoyed. This pristine cove has clear water and an abundance of coral and sea life. For guests arriving on the same day by flight, Rinca Island will be visited after lunch on the boat; Pink Beach cannot be visited.

Dinner and overnight onboard the local boat.

Awake early this morning for a full day trip in Komodo National Park. Breakfast and lunch will be served onboard.

On Komodo Island, take a trek to Banunggulung, the river bed where the dragons used to be fed fresh goats. The trek goes through spectacular scenery, and many unusual plants and animals can be seen.  After the trek, continue to Pink Beach to enjoy some fantastic world class snorkeling. This pristine cove has clear water and an abundance of coral and sea life

Late this afternoon return to Labuan Bajo and transfer to the hotel.

Dinner will be served at hotel.

Overnight in Labuan Bajo.
