Travel to a forgotten island group in Indonesia and discover the wonders of Flores. See itβs magically colored lakes, its impressive marine wildlife and visit one of the most beautiful, small and isolated traditional village of Wae Rebo, a village that situated around 1,100 meters above sea level, where the air is cool and the village completely covered by dense forest in the middle of the valley.Β

Upon arrival at Maumere, be welcomed by a local English-speaking guide and proceed to a local restaurant for lunch.
Following lunch, continue to Ledalero Museum to learn about the unique culture of Flores and its fascinating prehistoric history. Afterwards, continue to Sikka Village to witness Ikat weaving techniques that are unique to the area.
Next up, visit Koka Beach for some scenic relaxation followed by a drive to Moni, a small settlement at the foot of the volcanic Mount Kelimutu.
Wrap the day up with dinner at the hotel and spend the rest of the evening enjoying the charming ambience of Moni.

After an early wake-up call at around 04:00, proceed to the mysterious Mount Kelimutu to discover one of the most amazing natural phenomena in Flores. Kelimutu consists of three uniquely coloured lakes of brilliant aquamarine, ochre red and chocolate brown. Over the years, the three crater lakes have often changed colours. While a scientific reason for the colour changes may be the varying mineral content of the lakes, local people strongly believe that the three lakes are gathering places of ancestral spirits, with each colour relating to different types of spirits.
Note: Easy access with a 30-minute walk from the parking area of the Kelimutu National Park.
After observing this stunning natural phenomenon, drive back to the hotel in Moni for breakfast and spend some time changing and packing. Check-out and continue the journey towards Riung Village. Make stops along the way towards at Nduria’s bustling fruit and vegetable market and Saga, a traditional Lionese village.
Leave Saga behind and continue towards Ndona Ikat Weaving Village, where lunch is served at a local restaurant.
After lunch, the next stop is Blue Stone Beach in the Nangapanda area. Take a walk along this unique blue-pebble beach and be sure to snap a few photos. Then, continue to Riung for a late-afternoon arrival.
Enjoy dinner at the hotel and spend the rest of the night in Riung.

After breakfast at the hotel, travel to 17 Islands National Park for a boat trip and incredible some snorkelling. The 17 Island Sea Garden is an untouched underwater paradise where lightblue waters envelop clusters of paradisiacal atolls, providing a quiet and peaceful surrounding for a multitude of colourful fish.
Enjoy a barbeque picnic for lunch and continue to Nangamese Harbour near the tiny islands of Pulau Rutong and Pulau Bukit Tiga. Be amazed by the last excursion of the day, as the Kalong mangroves are famous for its giant bats or ‘flying foxes’. Head back for an afternoon spent at leisure, with dinner and overnight stay at the hotel

Travel to Bajawa, a small and quiet town surrounded by mountains in the middle of Flores. Along the way, enjoy scenic views over the southern coast of Flores and its beautiful mountainous landscapes. Amidst the fields of macadamia trees, find the So’a Hot Spring for an optional healthy bath. Continue the trip onwards to Bajawa.
Enjoy a lunch at a local restaurant, and stop at Wogo for an impression of authentic Ngada village life. Wogo features some impressive ancestral stones as well, plus some typical Ngadhu and Bhaga shrines representing the ancestors of this clan.
Upon arrival in Bajawa, check in to the hotel and look forward to a dinner either served at the hotel or a local restaurant.

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel, and continue with a visit to a bamboo plantation offering majestic views over Mount Inerie. Continue to Luba, another traditional Ngada village and walk to Bena, the most impressive of all Ngada villages. Featuring its stone megaliths beside ancient houses, this tribal community also overlooks Mount Inerie.
Lunch is served at a local restaurant. Afterwards, proceed to Ruteng City. Make a stop at a local arak factory near Aimere and see how the locals produce this typical alcoholic drink. Also stop to take a look at Ranamese Lake and relax for a while on its black sandy beaches.
Eventually, make it to Ruteng, which is the largest rice-producing area of Flores and is famous for its Indonesian coffee. Located at around 1,100 metres above sea level, these volcanic highlands produce a great cup of coffee.
Enjoy dinner at a local restaurant and spend the night in an old Catholic convent.

Enjoy a breakfast at the hotel, and continue to Dintor via Iteng. Take in the beautiful panoramic views, villages and rice fields along this scenic three-hour drive.
Lunch is either served at a lodge in Dintor or in Denge.
With a boost of energy following lunch, start hiking uphill through the rainforest to reach Wae Rebo, which should take around four hours. Encounter a creek after about an hour for a first stop to enjoy the natural pools. The second stop at Pocoroko offers panoramic views of the south and a stunning ocean view. Continue on to the next stop at at Nampe Bakok, with a rewarding view over the traditional village of Waerebo.
Be welcomed in Waerebo by a charismatic village elder who is entitled to welcome all guests travelling to the village.
Spend the rest day exploring this unique community and experience the local way of life. Enjoy an authentic stay-over at one of the villager’s homes and fall asleep after a day of trekking.

After a well-deserved breakfast, spend some time in the village before walking down to Denge, along the same trail from the day before. Enjoy the views once more while heading down to the parking lot where the car and driver are waiting. Board the car for a drive to Labuan Bajo, with a lunch en route at Denge Guesthouse.
Depending on the condition of the roads, the drive continues after lunch through either Dintor or Nangalili, with a final arrival at Labuan Bajo in the late afternoon.

Rise early this morning for a full-day boat trip to Komodo National Park. Founded in 1980 to protect the Komodo dragons, this UNESCO World Heritage site holds the world's largest lizard, and it is also a protected marine habitat for some of the richest marine biodiversity on earth.
Boat-Trip Version 1 (default): Rinca – Komodo – Pink Beach
This is a full day of exploration of Komodo National Park with visits to see the dragons of Rinca and Komodo Island, plus a snorkelling excursion to the world-famous Pink Beach..

Board a local motorboat to Rinca, a small island near Komodo. The island is famous for its population of Komodo dragons as well as wild pigs, buffalos and birds. Go ashore and see these impressive lizards in their natural environment.
Continue to Komodo Island while enjoying a lunch on the boat. On the island, take a trek through spectacular scenery and see unusual plants and animals. Arrive at Banunggulung, the riverbed where dragons used to be fed live goats. Before leaving Komodo, take a swim or go snorkelling at Pink Beach, a pristine cove with clear water and an abundance of marine life.
Return to Labuan Bajo by boat and enjoy dinner at a local restaurant or in the hotel before spending the night there
Boat-Trip Version 2 (price deduction applies): Rinca - Kanawa Island – Bidadari Island
This is a shorter and more comfortable version to experience Komodo National Park. The visit to see dragons is made on Rinca Island. There’s an opportunity to go snorkeling at the beautiful Kanawa Island and Bidadari Island

Board a private local boat and depart to Rinca Island. Arrive in Loh Buaya Bay and register at Komodo National Park Office. Smaller than Komodo, and mostly covered with savanna, it is easy to observe the dragons and other animals such as wild deer, water buffaloes, monkeys, boars and horses on a short, 1½ trek under the guidance of a local park ranger.
Afterwards, return to the boat and, while cruising to Kanawa Island, enjoy a simple but filling lunch. Upon arrival at Kanawa Island set the snorkeling gear and get ready for an incredible snorkeling adventure at one of the island’s beautiful reefs.
Continue to nearby island of Bidadari for another snorkeling opportunity which offer wider reef and marine life.
In the afternoon return to the boat and cruise back to Labuan Bajo.
Boat-Trip Version 3 (surcharge applies): Rinca – Padar – Komodo – Kanawa Island
This speedboat excursion of Komodo National Park allows for the most elaborate visit, combining fast and comfortable travel with the best visits and sights.

Board a local speed boat and head for Rinca Island. Arrive in Loh Buaya Bay to register with the Komodo National Park authorities. Smaller than Komodo and mostly covered with savanna, Rinca makes it easier to observe the dragons and other animals such as wild deer, water buffaloes, monkeys and boars. Under the guidance of a local park ranger, this one-and-a-half-hour trek will be on horseback.
Continue by boat to Padar Island. A short trek reveals spectacular panoramic views that easily make for the best viewpoint in Komodo National Park.
From Padar, travel to the pier of Loh Liang on Komodo Island. Komodo Island is the largest and most famous of all islands in Komodo National Park and covers 390 square-kilometres. It also has the largest community of Komodo dragons and many other animals such as wild horses, buffaloes and pigs. Set off for a 90-minute trek under the guidance of a local park ranger who will explain all about these iconic lizards and other life on the island? Pass by waterholes where animals drink and lizards size up their prey and enjoy the endless views over the park.
Lunch is served after returning to the boat, while cruising further towards the island of Kanawa for an amazing snorkelling experience. Enjoy the beautiful white sandy beach and its waters by observing the colourful underwater world. Many tropical fish and coral species can be seen here.
Return to Labuan Bajo by boat in the late afternoon.
