📍 Wonosobo – Dieng (26 km): 1 hr Dieng – Tambi tea plantation (16 km): 30 mns Tambi Tea Plantation – Wonosobo (15 km): 30 mns

Prepare for an early 03:30 departure from the hotel to reach the volcanic Dieng Plateau at an elevation of 2,000 metres. Here, clouds often settle below the plateau’s slopes, creating the impression of waves of mist across the highlands.

Upon reaching Sembungan Village, embark on an approximate 40-minute hike (subject to fitness levels) to the summit of Mt Sikunir. At the top, witness a spectacular sunrise as the first light breaks over the surrounding volcanic landscape and clouds.

Continue the exploration by observing the volcanic activity at Kawah Sikidang Crater before visiting the oldest Hindu temples in Java, a collection of eight shrines dating back to the 7th and 8th centuries, set against a backdrop of rugged terrain and sulfurous vents.

Next, visit the Tambi Tea Plantation at the base of Mt Sindoro. Established in 1885, this 830-hectare estate employs over a thousand workers, who can harvest 7 kg of leaves in just 20 minutes. Take a guided tour to learn how tea leaves are processed, including withering, rolling, oxidation and drying, to produce orthodox black tea as well as green and scented teas.

Relax with a cup of freshly brewed tea on the plantation terrace before returning to the hotel.

After returning to refresh and check out, enjoy lunch at the hotel restaurant before departing for the next destination.
