The main international gateway to Bawah Island, which is part of the Indonesian Anambas Archipelago about 300 km Northwest of Singapore, is through the city of Singapore. It is recommended to combine the Bawah Island Escape with a pre- and post-stay in Singapore. 

Begin at 07:00 am Singapore time for an exciting journey from home, a hotel or the airport in Singapore to the ferry terminal and be met by a member of the resort team. Go through immigration, and hop on a short ferry ride to Batam, Indonesia. Here, receive a fast track through immigration to enter the Republic of Indonesia before being introduced to the resort travel coordinator. After a short road transfer to the airport Batam enjoys the private lounge while waiting for the flight aboard the private Airfast seaplane with two pilots. Take off on land and arrive on water in the beautiful lagoon right in front of the suite.

The main island is 66 hectares and is surrounded by four smaller islands and a number of islets. The islands surround three lagoons, the largest of which is over 900 m long. A shallow channel through the outer reef into the second largest of the lagoons offers protected deep-water anchorage. The third lagoon runs North South with a large Mangrove on both sides giving home to extensive wildlife of mudskippers, numerous fish, crabs & birdlife. The surrounding coral reefs provide excellent opportunities to snorkel and & dive and there is a unique variety of marine life.

Arrive at the resort in the afternoon, refresh and enjoy lunch at the resort. The Boat House Bar & Restaurant, Treetop ClubHouse Restaurant, The Grouper Beach & Pool Bar, The Wallace Library, Jules Verne Lookout Bar, and numerous places for picnics and al fresco dining. Accommodation is on a full-board basis.

Spend the rest of the day at leisure or enjoy any of the many activities on complimentary basis.

Luggage limit 15Kg per person including hand luggage (baggage deposit available free of charge at Batam Airport)
Ideally excess luggage should be left with the guest's hotel if staying in Singapore or Indonesia pre/post guests stay at Bawah Reserve.

Luxuriate the first day in the island surrounded by virgin nature environment. The day is at leisure.

The resort provides complimentary activities of tennis, yoga and Pilates, meditation, hikes and all non-motorized water sports such as kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, snorkeling or sailing. Spa treatments are also provided on complimentary basis. Against a fee, further activities such as diving are possible.

There are thirteen beaches as imagines from Robinson Crusoe movies that can easily be discovered on footpaths through beautiful nature with fascinating wildlife. In the evenings, there is an open-air cinema, themed nights, stargazing and social games will be some of the past times.

Discover the wonders of Indonesian heritage in a Batik art class or simply laze away the afternoon at Aura Spa or on your private veranda. Because the resort is a boutique resort with plenty to do, you can easily plan your days.

📍 - 13:30 depart from the resort by private Airfast seaplane for flight to Batam (280 km): 80 minutes -13:30 arrival in Batam, and car transfer to the ferry terminal (17km): 25 minute -14:30 ferry from Batam to Harbourfront Ferry Terminal in Singapore (ca. 30 km): 60 minutes -16:40 private car transfer to a home, hotel or Changi Airport in Singapore (up to 20+/- km): 30 minutes [times above are local times each; Bawah Island is 90 minutes ahead of Batam and 30 minutes ahead of Singapore] If flying out from Singapore on the same day, the journey is feasible if a flight is booked that departs after 21pm!

Enjoy the morning until checkout from the resort.

Depart by seaplane after noon, and head back to Batam for the transfer to the ferry terminal and back to Singapore. Be picked-up in Singapore by private car and transferred to a home in Singapore, a hotel or the airport.
